It is a feature of the Practice that the majority of our Doctors have been at the centre for a number of years.
Dr Steve Brabazon
Dr Steve Brabazon, has been practicing in the Mandurah area since 1982, initially working in emergency medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and anaesthetics. He now focuses on family medicine, with special interest in skin cancer, aged care and complex chronic care including diabetes, arthritis and palliative cancer management.
Dr Clifton Parry
Dr Clifton Parry, aspired to be a country doctor from his teenage years. Graduating from UWA, he pursued training at Fremantle Hospital. Clifton gained post graduate qualifications in obstetrics and gynaecology, and anaesthetics in Africa and the UK. He took up general practice in Mandurah in 1984, delivering babies as giving anaesthetics at Murray District Hospital and later at Peel Health Campus. Clifton has interests in Palliative Care and skin cancer treatment. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and appreciates the family care aspect of General Practice. Clifton continues to be involved in volunteer medical aid work in Africa.
Dr Joe Buters
Dr Joe Buters, is a Western Australian trained GP who has lived and worked locally for over 25 years. His interests include skin cancer detection, care of the older patient and mature onset diabetes.
Dr Malcolm Broom
Dr Malcolm Broom, initially trained at UWA, graduating in 1988, and spent the following 2 years working at Royal Perth Hospital in various specialty departments. Travelling to New Zealand with his wife, Mal worked in various hospitals and completed his Diploma of Obstetrics. He also traveled to the UK undertaking specific General Practice training before successfully passing the Royal College of General Practice Practitioners exams. Upon returning home, Mal worked in Albany, Mt Barker, Port Hedland and Perth, before joining Mandurah Medical Centre in 1995. Mal and his wife have had the pleasure of raising their family here and watching Mandurah grow from a small country town into the vibrant and dynamic city is now is.
Dr Huan Nguyen
Dr Huan Nguyen, grew up in Perth and graduated with his medical degree from UWA in 1999. He has worked in various hospitals in Perth including Sir Charles Gairdner, Hollywood, Joondalup Health Campus and King Edward Memorial Hospital. He worked in Narrogin before moving to Mandurah to complete his specialist qualifications in General Practice. Huan has been at Mandurah Medical Centre since 2003. Interests include, type 2 diabetes, travel medicine, antenatal care, occupational medicine and depression. Outside of work Huan uses every opportunity to travel and enjoys photography and hiking.
Dr Leah Geonzon
Dr Leah Geonzon, is a fellow of the RACGP and has worked full time at Mandurah Medical Centre since 2006. She emigrated from the Philippines where she worked a s a specialist physician for 10 years. Leah is interested in all aspects of medicine, but especially adult medicine and chronic disease management.
Dr Clare Devine
Dr Clare Devine, is from the UK where she completed all her medical training. Clare qualified in 2000 and was a well-established GP with her own practice before moving to Australia with her husband and children. Clare has been at Mandurah Medical Centre since 2012. Her main interests are women’s health, child health and chronic disease management. Dr Devine works full time and offers appointments Monday – Thursday (early appointments available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s from 7:30am) and regularly on Saturday mornings.
Dr John Buckley
Dr John Buckley has been working as a GP in Mandurah since moving here from Ireland with his family in 1992. He ran his own practice for almost 20 years, moving to Mandurah Medical Centre in July 2012. John is widely experienced and enjoys all aspects of family practice and intends to continue for many years to come. Apart from his work in General Practice, one of John’s ambitions is to be present at the MCG when the Fremantle Dockers win a Grand Final!!
Dr Patricia Too
Dr Patricia Too, came to Australia from Canada in 2006, and has been with Mandurah Medical Centre for almost 2 years. Patricia has a keen interest in Skin Cancer diagnosis and care, as well as all aspects of general practice.
Dr Samuel Komakech
Sam moved to Australia with his wife and 2 children in 2007, after completing his medical training in Beijing. Sam has completed a MSC in biomedical Science – majoring in infectious diseases (Curtin University). He has worked in various hospitals around the state and moved into rural general practice in 2015 to forge a career as a GP. Sam enjoys all aspects of general practice with a special interest in skin cancer and minor procedures. He also speaks fluent Mandarin and Luo as a second language.
Ria has been with Mandurah Medical Centre for 11 years, 7 of those as the practice accountant, and the last 4 years as the Manager. Ria has extensive experience with more than 20 years previously as practice manager in Kwinana. Ria loves reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Christine has lived in Mandurah for 10 years, working in the medical field for all that time, first in administration then management. Christine has gained a Diploma in Practice Management and enjoys the complexity of being with a large and very successful practice. She enjoys travel, locally and overseas, and especially enjoys time with her family.
Bec qualified as a registered nurse in 2003 and has worked in rural hospitals in WA and Queensland before settling into general practice nursing in 2011.
Bec enjoys going to the beach with her young family and has a secret passion for musicals.
Tracee has lived in Mandurah for 34 years and qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1994. She has gained experience in both emergency nursing, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Tracee has been with us since January 2018 and really enjoys the variety of general practice and helping people improve their lives through our Practice clinics.
Sam is an ex-shearer and former Forest Fire Fighter who was awarded an Emergency Services Medal following the 2009 ‘Black Saturday’ bush fire in Victoria. Sam moved to WA in 2010 with his family where he began his training as a Registered Nurse. Toward his development as a Registered Nurse, Sam has gained extensive experience in behavioral management. Sam’s nursing practice is oriented towards assisting patients maintain their health, well being and independence. At the end of the day, Sam’s greatest enjoyment comes from spending quality time with his two beautiful girls….
Pauline moved to Mandurah from Ireland with her husband and children in 1992. She is a registered nurse and Midwife and has worked in General Practice for the past 24 years. Pauline joined Mandurah Medical Centre in 2014 and enjoys working in our Health Assessment Clinics.
Lynn is a senior receptionist at Mandurah Medical Centre and has been here since 1994. She loves helping people and seeing them smile. Lynn is also a keen sporting enthusiast, being involved at various sports in varying capacities for a number of years. Lynn has recently welcomed her first grandson!
Marisa has lived in Mandurah for 25 years and been at Mandurah Medical Centre since 1994. She is a senior receptionist with us.
Bev has worked for Mandurah Medical Centre for 10 years as a receptionist. She enjoys reading, going out for long lunches, walking and spending time with family, especially with the grandkids.
Rhonda, has lived in Mandurah for 25 years, and has previously worked in administration in a health related capacity. Rhonda has been at Mandurah Medical Centre for almost 3 years, and enjoys interacting with patients in her role as receptionist.
Yvonne is an experienced medical receptionist who has worked in the healthcare industry for 19 years. She joined Mandurah Medical Centre in 2012 and enjoys the great team environment at our centre. She enjoys interacting with others and is always available to help. Yvonne has lived in Mandurah for 34 years and enjoys reading and travel and spending her free time with family and friends.
Eve has more than 19 years’ experience working in the health industry to our practice. She enjoys travelling, dancing and spending time with her family.
Michelle has lived in Mandurah since the 1980’s & has worked in the Medical/ Reception industry since 2008. Her role and passion since 2011 has been dedicated to Chronic Disease Management & Preventative Health within General Practice. She enjoys family time, socialising, gardening & loves animals.
Jo has lived in Mandurah for 27 years & previously worked in Administration. She enjoys interacting with patients and loves the friendly atmosphere at Mandurah Medical Centre.
